Credits: How They Are Used & Expiry Policy

Credits are the foundation of how AssistLore works. Instead of charging separately for features, APIs, or services, AssistLore uses a single internal credit system that gives you clarity, flexibility, and full control over your usage.

What Are Credits in AssistLore?

Credits are a usage balance assigned to your account when you sign up (Free plan), subscribe to a paid plan, or upgrade/change plans. Once added to your account, credits are consumed based on how you use AssistLore's features. This approach allows you to scale up or slow down without being locked into fixed limits.

Where Credits Are Used

  1. Unlocking AI Agents: Credits are required to create and activate AI agents. Depending on your plan, the number of agents you can create may be limited and each agent requires credits to remain active.
  2. LLM Message Outputs: Credits are consumed when your AI agents generate responses using Large Language Models. AssistLore measures message usage (token counts) and normalizes usage into credits.
  3. Text-to-Speech (TTS) Audio Generation: Credits are converted into a character allowance; generated audio consumes characters from that allowance.
  4. Agent-Level Subscriptions: Credits manage agent-specific subscriptions (separate from account plan). Each agent has its own usage cycle and consumes credits independently.

How Credits Expire

Monthly plan credits are tied to the active billing cycle and may expire when the subscription period ends. If you upgrade before expiry, remaining credits are carried forward. Free plan credits are granted once and do not renew.

Credits converted into LLM message limits or TTS character limits do not expire by time; they remain available until consumed.

Important Things to Know

  • Credits cannot be transferred between accounts.
  • Credits cannot be withdrawn or refunded.
  • Credits are a platform-only currency and have no value outside AssistLore.
  • AssistLore manages usage and platform integrations; API keys and direct model access are not exposed to customers.
